can arsenal win the title ?

Sunday 14 December 2008

No matter what they say ,i belief arsene wenger. But for me something must be change in the position of the team. Otherwise arsene might be a looser this season if they not buy a player that can give a big impact for team. they must splash a big money to buy a star player such ass david villa and arshavin, they have a good skill and ability also they will give impact in front of attacking. yaya toure brother of toure is the one who can take advantage at the back with her brother. I think all fan will be cheer about it.

Some mistake that arsene did it in last season, he have sold hleb and flamini out. This is a bigger mistake that can be difficult problem in the team. I'm sure that denilson and song will take over the position, But it take a time to recover the hole.

sometimes i remember if henry rejoin again, i belief arsenal will get through the first table. But it doesn't happen and must forget about it.What arsenal have to do is they need to struggle and learn from mistake plus keep up the hard work to archive what belong to them.

'I think it is important to keep our belief'

“There was room to win the game, especially when we were 1-0 up with plenty of chances to score a second; we were in control. I feel we were a bit unlucky on the goal we conceded but Middlesbrough played well and worked very hard.

"In the second half they had a good mixture of defending well and getting the pace out of the game, going down and gaining time. That was a bit frustrating but they did it well and in the last 20 minutes they defended very well.”

On Middlesbrough's formation...
“We know everywhere we go we will see the same thing [opposition teams lining up with one striker]. I have seen them against Chelsea and they were not sharp at all, but today they were very sharp and defended every inch of the ground. It is amazing the differences you see with teams.”

On what is missing...
“We tried, I do believe that. In the end we lacked something, we couldn’t take our chances and I must admit I expect ‘Boro to collapse a bit more than they did in the final part. They didn’t give in, even with tired legs and that is credit to them.

“You want always to get more but I feel my team needs more encouragement because they don’t get it anywhere and that is why I want to focus on the next game.”

On the title race...
“The league is wide open but we are in a position that every point we drop we are asked about it. I understand that, but champions are people who never stop and we can show that belief to keep going. We can do that in the next game.

“Of course [it is an enormous task], but we don’t think about that at the moment. We must just believe that the next game is one to reduce the distance between us and Liverpool.”

On showing signs of improvement...
"It is frustrating but that is part of it. Middlesbrough are a team who are capable of beating everybody in this league on their day, and we have to accept that. I believe we are on the way up, comparing how we were at the beginning of the season; then we would have lost a game like this.

"We have a better defensive balance, are more a team but just lack that extra thing that comes with confidence. This is a young team that is under a lot of pressure at the moment and that is why it is important to keep belief."

Wenger - I did not even think about defeat

Monday 10 November 2008

By desperado

Arsène Wenger did not allow himself to contemplate defeat ahead of Saturday’s crucial 2-1 over Manchester United.

The Arsenal manager endured a difficult press conference before the visit of the Premier League champions. But it was not only the media who were doubting Wenger after three games without a victory, bookmakers made his side outsiders to win a home game for only the third time in a decade.

Arsenal seemed to revel in their role as underdogs. samir nasri scored both goals as Wenger’s team got their title bid back on track. Ahead of the game the manager had refused to be fearful.

“I didn't imagine the consequences of a defeat,” said Wenger. “I felt before the game it was important not to think about that - just think that you want to win and deal with what happens after.

“I don't know why but I didn't. Part of the preparation is to go in with a winning attitude to build on.

“When you analyse the situation retrospectively a fear could come in and that could be dangerous. So we went in positively and after you deal with it. If you open the press or listen to the media you have the feeling that the world will stop if you lose, but it goes on the next morning.

“In our job, we can talk, talk, talk. At the end of the day it is what you produce on the football pitch. The answer was right on Saturday. When you don't do that you get criticised. You have to deal with that and show you can take it.”
