Thierry Henry admits that he has fulfilled a dream by getting his hands on the Champions League.
Henry helped Barcelona see off Manchester United 2-0 with a quite stunning display of football.
United are world champions following their success in January, but there is little doubt as to who is the best side in Europe after Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi scored the goals that secured a stunning success.
Henry came so close to Champions League glory with Arsenal in 2006 and he admits this is a trophy he has craved above all others.
”Finally,” he told ITV Sport. “I have been waiting so long to get this title.
”In the last five minutes they were the longest minutes of my life. You never know what can happen, we are playing against the best team in the world, they won it in January, so you have to give respect to United, but it was amazing.”
Henry says Barca remained true to their beliefs throughout the glorious success in Rome.
He added: “We have played the same all year, we want to play football. We did not start well, United were dominant, but once we had the ball and passed it like we can it was unbelievable.”
